Hand Painted Portraits
The portraits shown here have been painted on 18" x 24" canvases. Of course, portraits can be painted on any size canvas. I personally paint each portrait from start to finish. Although working with live models if preferable, most people do not have the time to sit for hours. I usually work off of photographs. For the first painting above (far left), I worked from a 1" square section of a black and white photograph from 1929. For the fourth painting above (center right), each of the three subjects was pulled from a different picture, creating a new and unique arrangement. This painting was used for the Extreme Makeover Home Edition television show and was donated to the Arena family in remembrance of their son Jimmy. Charcoal sketches are also available. These portraits ARE NOT textured copies on canvas. They ARE NOT products of a mass produced automated copy procedure. Each portrait is individually hand painted by me. Portraits can be ordered and shipped directly to you. Upon completion of your portrait, I will e-mail a picture of the painting to you for approval. Satisfaction guaranteed!
An 18" x 24" canvas works nicely for 1 to 2 people. The price for this size painting is $700. Additional people, add $150 p/person. Larger canvases are available. In stock sizes are 24" x 30"; 24" x 36"; and 24" x 48". Add $35 for each canvas size increment over 18" x 24".
